Shortgreyz Is A Friends, Artists And Musician Collective involved in the Tekno Rave / Free party in France. We were illuminated in 1992 with the Fantom and Spiral Tribe parties. Since this time, we met more friends and spread the virus around us.Some started to buy some vinyls and mix. Some also started to practice Live Act in the Tracking Style (coming from the Amiga Demo Scene),first with Protracker and 2 amigas, next with Fastracker2 on old PCs, Spreading the tracking Live virus around us. After the Fontainebleau Teknival 1994, we were enough people to start a small soundsystem for our own fun. In September 1994, ShortgreyS made their first party with almost 50 people, enjoying the power of the Acid Tekno Sound in the forest, surrounded by the stars and the bright moon!

Since then we made smaller parties, always set in the forest, because of the good vibrations of the techno sound pumping in a natural area! There were more and more friends from near areas coming with us ... and we finally hold a little sound System in the massive and wicked Fontainebleau Teknival 1995 (Surf To Defcore for the video). A bit later, it was also time to kick out some free sound on the same spot as 1994's Teknival, for the french governement Fête de la Musique.

But ShortGreyz as a real SoundSystem didn't last very long.Our 1 year Birthday party, held the 23 September 1995 was our last attempt to really organise a "rave party". We didn't expected so much success .. and with an estimation of 200 people max, we reached 500 people. The party was under a bridge under a huge motorway, still in the middle of the forest. Unfortunately all the ravers cars made the police aware of a party,and in the middle of the night we saw a column of 20/30 policemen with torches coming to our spot. It was big panic, and everybody ran accross the forest, or even through the highway! Finally , there were many greyz at the start, and we were only five left , facing to the police and going to the station on sunday Morning.

This party was the trigger. We decided to stop making parties, and to focus only on the Music / Live Acts. As A live Act, ShortgreyZ then played in several parties like "Mental COnfusion" in the Gibus, "Explore Toi" party , or Forest/Wharehouse parties. There were always little parties held in natural spots, but very small private ones, although some greyz tried to organise some more parties around. And later, they made their own Sound Sytem crews like Dfaze or Nawak, to continue party activism , each with their own specific Sound Style And Live Acts.

1997, After these splits, Shortgreyz Live also splitted but continued playing live in several parties/teknival like Courcelles Teknival 1997 on Ultime Atom Sound, and some friends parties. We also wend in Brittany near Morlaix for a One Week Awesome Truck/SoundSystem experience, making sound every day/night during 7 days. In 1998 there were 2 "HeadSpasm" vinyls released , and Shortgreyz live played in some free parties, The Gadouland Teknival with Ph4 sound, little parties with PY sound / Ex Subspace.net Asso. 1999 was the Chaotik year ! Shortgreyz Sound System rebirth with Diabolik Sound System help, we had our own Sound again in the Caen Teknival, and Shortgreyz Live played in some parties,thanks to Architek. Since this time .. shortgreyz almost stopped partying/organising but kept making music !!

Shortgreyz.Net was born in 2001 , as a way to promote our music with a Net Radio. Soon , excited by the Free Software / Open Source Community which in my humble opinion have quite the same spirit, we decided to apply this concept on music distribution .
